Community Roots

Rooted in the Fraser Valley

Fraser Roofing isn't a franchise. We're not a corporate chain with a Vancouver head office. We're a family-owned business based in Chilliwack, BC that lives, works, and raises families in the same communities we serve. Kory and Johnny have been roofing since 2016. They incorporated Fraser Roofing Ltd. in 2026 because they wanted to build something real, a business their families could be proud of.

This isn't just a business model, it's who we are.

Local Projects That Matter

Over the past five years in the Fraser Valley, we've had the privilege of working on projects that strengthen our communities:

Agassiz Community Hall (2021)

• Pro-bono roof inspection and minor repairs shortly after launching the business
• Identified structural issues before they became dangerous
• Connected the hall committee with a structural engineer
• Returned later to complete a full replacement at cost

Mission Seniors' Housing Complex (2022)

• 24-unit strata building complete re-roof
• Attended multiple council meetings to answer resident questions
• Phased installation to minimise noise disruption for elderly residents
• Provided detailed photo documentation for every unit

Chilliwack Alliance Church (2023)

• Full re-roof of a building with architectural character worth preserving
• Worked with the congregation committee on material selection
• Completed on a tight budget through smart material sourcing

Hope Elementary Windstorm Repair (2024)

• Emergency roof repair after severe windstorm caused significant damage
• Coordinated with the school district to minimise disruption
• Completed during spring break so students were never affected
• Donated a portion of profits to the school playground fund

Emergency Response: 2021 Atmospheric River

In November 2021, the Fraser Valley experienced catastrophic flooding and landslides from an atmospheric river event. While most attention focused on flood damage, the extreme rainfall caused widespread roof failures across the region.

Our response:

• Activated emergency response teams within hours
• Provided free emergency tarping for 18 properties in Hope, Agassiz, and Chilliwack
• Sourced emergency materials when suppliers were overwhelmed
• Prioritised seniors and families with young children
• Deferred payment for customers facing financial hardship from flood damage

We didn't do this for publicity. We did it because these were our neighbours in crisis. The business was barely months old, but this is who Kory and Johnny are, Red Seal Boilermakers who show up when it matters.

Several of those emergency tarp jobs turned into full roof replacements months later, not because we pressured anyone, but because customers remembered who showed up first.

Supporting Local Suppliers

We could save money ordering materials from Vancouver distributors. Instead, we source from local Fraser Valley suppliers like Roofmart Chilliwack, Pioneer Building Supplies, and Canex.

Why this matters:

• Local jobs: Our material purchases support Fraser Valley employees and their families
• Tax base: Local suppliers pay property and business taxes that fund schools, roads, and services
• Emergency access: When a storm hits, local suppliers prioritise local contractors they know and trust
• Relationships: We know the staff personally, they know our standards, and communication is instant

The economic multiplier: Every dollar spent locally generates approximately $1.50 to $2.00 in local economic activity. When you hire us, you're not just getting a roof, you're supporting the Fraser Valley economy.

Word-of-Mouth Reputation in Small Towns

In communities like Rosedale, Agassiz, and Yale, reputation is everything. There are no anonymous transactions. Everyone knows everyone.

This creates accountability:

• A sloppy job in Rosedale doesn't just lose one customer, it loses an entire network
• A missed callback in Agassiz becomes coffee shop conversation
• An honest estimate in Yale becomes a referral to three neighbours

We embrace this pressure. It keeps us honest, responsive, and excellent.

Real example: In 2022, we completed a roof in Rosedale. The homeowner mentioned it at a community gathering. Within two months, we had four more projects from that single conversation. That's not marketing, that's reputation earned one roof at a time.

Sponsorships and Involvement

We believe in giving back to the communities that support us:

Annual sponsorships:

• Fraser Valley youth sports programs
• Agassiz Fall Fair
• Mission Hospice Society
• Local community events across the valley

Volunteer work:

• Habitat for Humanity roofing installations (donated labour)
• Annual "Seniors' Roof Safety Inspection Day", free inspections for homeowners aged 65 and older
• Emergency volunteer response during major weather events

Why we do this: Because strong communities create strong businesses. We're not just taking from the Fraser Valley, we're investing in it.

The Neighbour Advantage

When you hire Fraser Roofing, you're hiring people who:

• Shop at the same grocery stores
• Drive the same roads
• Experience the same Fraser Valley weather
• Send kids to the same schools
• Care about the same community issues

This means:

• We can't disappear after a bad job, we live here
• We can't ignore callbacks, we'll see you at the gas station
• We can't cut corners, our reputation is our livelihood
• We can't overcharge, word travels fast in small towns

This is accountability you can't get from a Vancouver contractor who drives in, does the job, and disappears.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Fraser Roofing serve communities outside Agassiz?

Yes. We serve the entire Fraser Valley from Hope to Abbotsford, including Chilliwack, Harrison Hot Springs, Rosedale, Mission, Yale, and every community in between. Chilliwack is our home base, but the whole valley is our neighbourhood.

Does Fraser Roofing offer emergency tarping after storms?

Absolutely. During major weather events we prioritize emergency response and have provided free or deferred-payment tarping for families affected by storms and flooding throughout the Fraser Valley.

Why does hiring a local roofer matter?

Local roofers live in the same communities they serve. That means real accountability, we can not disappear after a bad job because we shop at the same stores, drive the same roads, and see you at community events. Every dollar spent locally also generates roughly $1.50 to $2.00 in Fraser Valley economic activity.

Does Fraser Roofing support local charities or youth sports?

Yes. We sponsor Fraser Valley youth sports programs, contribute to community events like the Agassiz Fall Fair, volunteer roofing labour for Habitat for Humanity builds, and run an annual free roof inspection day for seniors aged 65 and older.
