A WorkSafeBC clearance letter and our certificate of insurance are available on request. Ask for both before any work starts, from us or from anyone else quoting your roof. A clearance letter is the document that means you are not liable if someone is hurt on your property.
We are not bonded. If a contractor tells you they are, ask to see the bond.
Who does the work
Fraser Roofing is two brothers, Kory and Johnny Peters. Both are Red Seal Journeyman Boilermakers, a ten year industrial trade served in the Alberta oil sands. That is where the habits come from: harness points get checked, tie offs get tested, nothing gets covered up.
Neither of us holds a roofing ticket, because British Columbia does not issue one. Roofing is not a certified trade here, so any company telling you their roofers are ticketed roofers is telling you something that does not exist. What we have is a Red Seal in a trade where a mistake kills someone, and ten years of roofs in this valley.
The crew is in house. We do not subcontract the roof. Gutters are the one thing we do not do, and Gutters Canada quotes those separately.

The 10 year labour warranty
Every roof we install carries a ten year warranty on our labour. In plain words:
- If the roof leaks because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it, and you pay nothing for the repair or the labour.
- It runs ten years from the day the job is finished, and it stays with the house if you sell it.
- The shingles and the other materials carry their own manufacturer warranty, which is separate from ours and is between you and the manufacturer. We are not an IKO registered contractor, so we do not register an IKO warranty on your behalf and we will never tell you we have.
- What it does not cover: storm, impact and tree damage, anything someone else works on afterwards, a roof that was repaired rather than replaced, and failures in a part of the roof we did not touch.

What we will not claim
This trade is full of badges that mean nothing. We do not display a manufacturer logo we have not earned, a Better Business Bureau seal, a Red Seal or WorkSafeBC logo, or a star rating without the number of reviews beside it. If a roofing company shows you a seal, ask them which body issued it and what they had to do to get it.
