Shingle re-roof with skylights, Chilliwack

This is a Chilliwack re-roof we finished in September. The photos are the new field going down over the whole house, the two skylights set into it, and the ridge line the evening we finished.

The skylights are the part worth pointing at. A skylight almost never leaks through the glass. It leaks where the flashing meets the shingle course, so both of these were reflashed as part of the re-roof rather than shingled up to. If you shingle up to an old skylight flashing you have built a new roof around the one part of it that was already going to fail.
