Your Right to Data Deletion
DADS ROOFING respects your privacy and your right to control your personal data. Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable British Columbia privacy legislation, you have the right to request the deletion of any personal information we hold about you.
What Data We May Hold
Depending on how you've interacted with us, we may hold the following types of personal data:
- Contact information (name, email, phone number, address)
- Roofing inquiry details and quote requests
- Phone call recordings and transcripts from our AI receptionist
- Chat conversations with our AI assistant
- Payment and invoice records
- Website usage data and cookies
- Photos of your property taken during inspections
How to Request Data Deletion
To request deletion of your personal data, contact us using one of the following methods:
Option 1: Email (Recommended)
Send an email to info@dadsroofrepair.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:
- Your full name
- The email address or phone number associated with your interactions
- A description of what data you'd like deleted (or "all data")
Option 2: Phone
Call us at (778) 539-6917 and request data deletion. We'll follow up with email confirmation.
What Happens Next
- Acknowledgment: We'll confirm receipt of your request within 2 business days.
- Verification: We may need to verify your identity to protect against unauthorized deletion requests.
- Processing: Your data will be deleted from our systems within 30 days of your verified request.
- Confirmation: We'll send you a final confirmation once your data has been deleted.
Exceptions
In some cases, we may be required to retain certain data due to legal obligations, including:
- Tax and financial records required by the Canada Revenue Agency (typically 7 years)
- WorkSafeBC incident reports and safety records
- Active warranty documentation for completed roofing work
- Records required for ongoing legal proceedings
If any of your data falls under these exceptions, we'll inform you of what we're retaining and why.
Third-Party Data
If your data has been shared with third-party services (such as Meta/Facebook, Google Analytics, or our payment processor), we'll make reasonable efforts to request deletion from those services as well. You can also directly manage your data with these services through their own privacy settings.
